Aurora’s historic Root Street Cemetery…

My friend, fellow researcher, and family historian C.J. Truesdale has recently finished a comprehensive history of the landmark Root Street Cemetery in Aurora and has posted it here on WordPress.

The old burying ground was basically abandoned due to becoming landlocked back in the 19th Century, and subsequently many of the graves were moved to Spring Lake and West Aurora cemeteries. But a wealth of local history still remains.
